Jenny Kallin
Pen and ink drawing

Jenny likes to work on everyday subjects, using marks and closely-worked pen drawing to create non-realistic images with a darkness and mystery, and a sense of pattern. She produced full-page ink drawings for the novel 'The Last Resort Library' by Dr. Irving Finkel in 2007 and has her illustrations in a children's book launching this autumn 'The Princess Who Wouldn't Come Home'.

Jenny Kallin studied Fine Art at Guildhall University as a mature student, producing pen and ink drawings for her final show. She had an agent and worked as an artist at home, producing book illustrations and private commissions from large-scale drawings of Fiore Henriques' sculpture studio, to small postcard drawings for the vegetarian restaurant Kennard's. She has exhibited drawings through group shows at Stoke Newington Library, at Honor Oak Gallery and in a studio at Knightsbridge.

Jenny works part-time as an Assistant Conservator repairing books and pamphlets at Bishopsgate Library. Her favourite artists are Alfred Kubin, Gustave Dore and George Cruikshank.
