Judith Morell
Sculpture
Judith Morell studied Fine Art in Israel. She came to London and continued studying at the 'St Johns Cass College' ( part of London University ) practising in life drawing and mosaics. She then started a Mosaic studio and unique hand made mosaics mirrors were sold to the Oxford Street department store 'Liberties', and also shown at various art galleries and art fairs.
She then joined the Film Union and worked in film editing on documentaries in television.
When the change to video editing took over, she decided to change direction and started her own Art gallery in her local area in North London. The idea was to help local artists exhibit and run art & craft workshops for children and adults. Workshops included things such as ceramics, 'Raku', and silk paintings, mosaics, watercolours, life drawing, Tee shirt painting
and many others. She employed many artists to teach.
Later she met the amazing lady Catherine Wilson who was a medical professor at St George's Hospital who was a very good printmaker but who has unfortunately passed away few month ago. They have both started the 'Copra group' (www.coprart.co.uk) whose name derived from its' purpose as a coalition of practising artists, a few years ago.
We exhibited in central London gallery, in Lauderdale House' in Highgate, a gallery in Notting Hill and have taken part in art fairs.
Judith has started enjoying sculpture under the leadership of David Waller ( a
member of the 'Copra' group).
